Twitter was just a year old. We were heading to SxSw in Austin, and wanted to find a way to have some fun, meet new people and connect with potential new customers.

We created an interactive game that could be played via Twitter, along with the limited smartphone features available at the time.

With a good sense of humor, and a lot of sarcasm we created a Bingo card of things that were very likely to be spotted during SxSw. Gary V serving wine? Check. Someone with a Zune? Unlikely, but possible.

We distributed the cards virtually and digitally to SxSw attendees.

People loved it, and they played. Everyone was talking about this, from engineers and CEO’s to actors and Silicon Valley celebrities.

Wired named SxSw Bingo one the best digital campaigns of the year.

This campaign has been copied and imitated to no end - but this is the original, first and the most fun.
