Al Jazeera wanted to build a news presence in the US market. Specifically they identified a gap in news coverage. There wasn’t a news source for traditional and moderately conservative viewpoints.
We developed an entire brand from scratch. A visual identity, brand pillars, voice, tone and brand extensions like social media graphics and podcast collateral.
I’m especially proud of the way the visual brand and style guide worked together and operated on the same set of principles. Anyone could pick this up and very quickly create work that fit the brand.
Sadly, this never launched.
True story. About 48 hours before the launch, the then POTUS passed an executive order that prevented this from going live. That was a new one for me.
